I think of myself as a project driven artist, working across drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, 2D and 3D design, public artworks, and a little bit of writing...
More than thirty individual exhibitions in Australia and the UK, including a major survey - The poetry of space - at Orange Regional Gallery, in 2015. The exhibition was accompanied by a comprehensively illustrated book by curator Andrew Flatau.
In 2022 I initiated the National Art School Centenary Printmaking Residency, at my Studio, for two graduate students. This was run in March 2023 and introduced the participants to some innovative printmaking approaches and techniques.
Also this year, 2023, I exhibited in ‘Lineage’, a group show at Peisley Street Gallery, Orange NSW. The works in this show are ‘constructional’ in nature, following on from a work that was exhibited in ’Call and Response’ at Orange Regional Gallery in 2016. That work was inspired by an artwork by Aida Tomescu, and was in a direct creative line from works I created from a Residency in Brittany, using woven cane, both layered and three dimensional.
